Books We're Loving

We're headed to the library this morning to return some books and find some new gems.  This batch has been particularly loved and I wanted to share some more book recommendations for you and your littles.

Lakin will be making her debut as a flower girl in about a month.  We've been watching some You Tube classics to help her understand her small role in her uncle's big day.  This book has also been great for giving her a visual and pumping her up for her walk down the aisle.

Written by Julie Andrews, who is the original warm fuzzy maker, this cute story follows Geraldine as she prepares for her Aunt Sue's wedding.  There are tutus and sparkles and lots of pink.  It was an instant hit with Lakin.  There's also glitter on the pages- so if that's not incentive to bring it home today, I don't know what is...

The other book we've loved is The High Street by Alice Melvin.  This book has pages that fold out to reveal the elaborate insides of the stores on high street.  The repetition is great for toddlers and encourages participation as you read.  The illustrations are pretty rad too.

And finally, Lakin's favorite bathroom read (she'll kill me years down the road for sharing this kind of detail)  is Smile by Leah Hodgkinson.  This adorable tale has Sunny looking for her lost smile.  It's witty for parents and a joy for toddlers.  Lakin would recite pages during nap time.  Oh, and the illustrations are pretty cool too.

But you don't have to take my word for it.  Ba Dum Dum.

Reading Rainbow?  Anyone?
