Minnesota pretty much feels like home and this is our third winter in this great state. There are some cultural differences we had to embrace when moving North. First, I now bring an "egg bake" as opposed to a "breakfast casserole" when attending a morning gathering, we pronounce the long o in everyday speech, find ourselves saying things like, "offda" and hockey and winter sports have become more common place.
Cathy's son, Matthew, is a pretty impressive hockey player and we finally made it to a game the other day. If you don't count trying to eat rouge M&Ms from under the bleachers, the night was a hit with Lakin. We loved seeing Matthew in his element on the ice and cheering on the team with Miss Cathy.
Hockey's not all that bad.
