Easter Recap

Been a little MIA lately since we've had family in town and I was busy with a monster work design project.  But I'm baaaack.

Easter was so fun this year.  Chris' parents were here and we had several friends over for Easter brunch.  The menu was eggs, eggs, and more eggs.  You know, we're pretty traditional around here.

The afternoon before, we dyed easter eggs and Lakin loved every part of the messy venture.

Don't let these picturesque eggs fool you.  They were boogers to peel.  How is it that I always have to look up how to boil eggs?  Seems pretty straight forward.  I welcome any recipes you might suggest.

Easter morning we attended services at our church and came home to start cooking.  In typical Jaeger fashion we served party potatoes, the best egg bake known to man (thanks Aunt Cheryl), deviled eggs, mimosas, and fruit and french toast bake provided by some of our guests.

Wish I could show you the spread but it was gobbled before I thought to document.

Lakin's good friend, Annie, came to celebrate and the girls went on a pretty tricky egg hunt in the basement.  About halfway through Lakin discovered there was candy in the eggs and would open each one, pop the candy in her mouth and discard the egg on the ground.  Sweet Annie offered her candy to everyone in the room.  Don't think she even put a piece in her mouth.

Love Ben's expression of admiration toward Claire.

 ...and party over.

Doesn't Lakin just look thrilled.  Hmmmmmm
 Our friends, the Harts.

 Watching the hilarious egg hunt.
 Tricky, tricky.

All of Annie's candy ended up under the couch cushions.

 Candy jackpot.
Lindy enjoys some of Annie's candy offering.

So good to be with friends and family.  We sat around, watched some March Madness and I fell asleep with my mouth open so, yeah, it was a pretty successful holiday.
